This is a 3 sessions group that will enhance caregivers' communication and connection with their children (ages 10 to 17) and between themselves. The group is a hands-on group where parents/caregivers will be learning from their experiences and practicing foundational tools.

Baby Love Parenting Program is a FREE attachment-based 4-week programs for parents/caregivers with babies up to 14 months old. We will explore the importance of attachment, how to help your baby feel secure as well as ways to help your baby (and you too) deal with stress. Registration for the program is ongoing. Family Spiral is a 2-evening education program for family members, friends and support persons who are concerned about someone experiencing problematic substance use, behavioural addiction or a related mental health issue. Family Spiral is an introduction to Rideauwood’s family and parent counselling services. Participants learn about addiction and how it affects families, while connecting with others who are experiencing concerns and challenges similar to their own.

Caregivers often experience many types of grief throughout the dementia journey: ongoing grief, anticipatory grief, complex grief, and end of life grief. In this peer support group, you will have the opportunity to meet others experiencing grief in dementia, share your story, gain, and give support, and learn more about the importance of grief in life. This group can help you process the complex feeling of grief with people on a similar journey.

This is a specialized peer Support Group for young caregivers. Topics discussed range from young caregiver issues such as the challenges of multiple responsibilities, such as paid employment, parenting and family relationships, to general caregiving for a person living with dementia.

Monthly drop-in group for parents and caregivers of transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse children, youth and young adults. In partnership with CHEO. Parents and caregivers meet to support one another and share their experiences and knowledge as they raise their gender diverse children. Participants share information and resources.

This 8-week program aims to support participants by providing information on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. The group is led by two facilitators and works to build on and develop coping skills which can improve Perinatal Depression and/or Anxiety such as mindfulness, assertive communication, and cognitive behavioural therapy based tools. This program is open to people who are expecting, have given birth, or have adopted and who are noting the signs and symptoms of depression or anxiety, rooted in the transition to parenthood. Participation is by self-referral. This program includes an information session for people who are supporting participants. The session aims to provide support and strategies to help the participants and their family through the challenges of Perinatal Depression and/or Anxiety.

Being close to someone who is struggling with addiction can be frustrating, painful and sometimes feel like a lonely journey. We want to offer support so that you do not lose yourself on this journey. These meetings will offer an opportunity to learn how you can develop skills to then help you cope and help your loved one choose recovery and most importantly, to meet with others who are walking/have walked similar journeys. Join us once, every week, or whenever you feel the need to connect.

Our Parent Support Groups are confidential, no judgement, small groups of parents who meet to support each other, share valuable information, and connect with a community. These are hosted by two Family Peer Supporters who bring their own experience and wisdom, and knowledge of the services and resources.
